THE CINEMA
1- CINEMA CLUB
The Cinema Club takes place every week in The Jesuit School in El Fagala. Around 150 spectators from various poor neighbourhoods in Cairo come to see the films. Each film is followed by a seminar in which people related with the cinema industry –directors, actors and critics– participate. El-Nahda selects the films hoping to communicate some messages and open debates about different questions.
2- TRAVELLING CINEMA
The Roaming Cinema screens films in some poor suburbs in Cairo. Trough the cinema, common children and those who have special needs, can discover new artistic abilities and develop their creativity. The films are also a way to start discussions about different issues using as an example the events of the film. All films shown, documentaries or fiction, deal with social, cultural or environmental matters.
3- THE HOLY FAMILY CENTER FOR AUDIO AND VIDEO
The centre contains a set of rare video films that are divided in two groups: religious films like spiritual or educational films and cultural films: documentary and fiction movies talking about social and environmental problems. People can borrow or buy the films
4- EL-NAHDA ARTISTIC PRODUCTION CENTRE
The centre promotes the personal creativity and has produced several films dealing with social issues and popular heritage: “The Cutting Circle”, “The Converse of Silent”, “El Damma”
